The field of dietetics, which I started in as an SDSU graduate for several years, has served me well in providing opportunities in a variety of subject areas. I started out in clinical dietetics, then moved to community and public health type of work with SDSU Extension. In 2011, I became involved in the academic side of the nutrition and dietetics profession as an instructor and program director for an accredited nutrition and dietetic internship and accelerated bachelor's to master's program. My experiences in accreditation and skill sets in program management led to current SDSU employment as the curriculum and program assessment manager for the College of Education and Human Sciences since June 2022. My current role centers around elevating academic programs and pioneering new initiatives in experiential learning and transformative skill development. Through a collaborative approach, we have formulated and executed comprehensive assessment plans that ensure our educational offerings remain innovative and responsive to industry needs. My journey has been fueled by a passion for community health and the empowerment of future professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to make a significant difference in their communities.
