Steps to Add an Email Link

  1. Log in to Drupal via the "For Faculty and Staff" section in the footer, click "My Account.".
  2. Go into the page you'd like to add the email link to by clicking Edit in the top right hand corner of the page.
  3. In the Body field, type the text you want to turn into an email link within any paragraph where linking is allowed.
  4. Highlight that text.
  5. Click the link icon (paperclip) in the tools menu.
  6. In the Link URL field, type mailto: plus the email address you would like linked — no spaces.
    1. Example - mailto:websupport@sdstate.edu
  7. Click Insert to save the link.
  8. Click Save before exiting the paragraph.
  9. Save page as "In progress" or "Ready to Review."

Tips:

  1. To add text to the Subject line of the email, after the email address enter ?subject=plus the text you want in the subject line. Example - mailto:websupport@sdstate.edu?subject=Web Help
  2. Do not spell out an email address on a page - link to a name or text.
