Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance
Chapter 35 offers education opportunities to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or of veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition.
Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance Benefit Pay Rate
- You will receive a monthly living stipend which can be used at your own discretion. The pay rates are listed in the table below.
- This amount will change and be prorated depending upon school holidays i.e. spring break, Christmas break etc. The Department of Veterans Affairs only pays for days that SDSU is in session.
- Payment will come on the first of the month for previous month (payment in April is really for March).
**Pay rate will increase on Oct. 1 every year.
