South ������Ƶ State University Theatre and Dance will kick off its 2024-25 season with the wonky comedy “Fuddy Meers.”

The South ������Ƶ Art Museum at South ������Ƶ State University will celebrate the immersive exhibition of “Anila Quayyum Agha: Shadows and Splendor” with a day of programming on Saturday, Sept. 28. Agha will host a fine arts workshop on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. (registration required) and a free, public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m.

The South ������Ƶ State University School of Performing Arts presents Sam Gowen in “Music of the Night,” a recital for horn, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall.

Laura Diddle, the Paul E. and Doris J. Moriarty Endowed Professor of Choral Activities in the South ������Ƶ State University School of Performing Arts, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the South ������Ƶ American Choral Directors Association. Shawn Stemsrud, a 2022 SDSU graduate, received the association's Encore Award, as did 2002 SDSU alum Janice Gilbert.

The South ������Ƶ Art Museum at South ������Ƶ State University has again achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums, the highest national recognition afforded to the nation’s museums.

Adam Devlin, a recent master’s graduate in the South ������Ƶ State University Department of Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science, worked on a collaborative project with ������Ƶ in the School of Design to bring awareness to the hardships of South ������Ƶ farmers and the effects of soil composition in various subjects.

The South ������Ƶ Art Museum at South ������Ƶ State University will celebrate the immersive exhibition of huge blown glass ears of corn, “Primordial Shift: The Art of Michael Meilahn,” with a free public reception and panel discussion from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 27.

David C. Earnest, the Odeen-Swanson Distinguished Professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of South ������Ƶ, has been named dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at South ������Ƶ State University. Earnest was selected following a national search and will begin working on the SDSU campus July 8.

The South ������Ƶ Art Museum at South ������Ƶ State University will open its newest exhibition, “Termespheres: Without Beginning or End,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Artist Dick Termes will speak at 6 p.m., discussing the spherical paintings in this exhibition, known as Termespheres, and his process for creating them.

The annual South ������Ƶ State University Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 30 ������Ƶ members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors ������Ƶ members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.
