South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University President Barry Dunn bestowed SDSU Presidential Medallions upon four individuals, including one posthumously, Sept. 7 for their contributions to the university.

South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University recently paid tribute to the university’s newest endowment holders. The third annual University Leadership Honors investiture ceremony — honoring six holders of endowed positions across three different colleges and SDSU Athletics — was held Sept. 19 in Founders Recital Hall in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

Faculty and recent graduates from the South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions published six manuscripts over the summer months.

A record first-year class and record retention moved enrollment at South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University to 12,065 students for the fall 2024 semester, the highest enrollment at SDSU since 2018. Enrollment figures were released earlier today by the South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Board of Regents.

Marina Hendricks, assistant professor and graduate program coordinator for the online Master of Mass Communication in South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University’s School of Communication and Journalism, has been recognized as the David Adams Scholastic Journalism Division Educator of the Year.

Laura Diddle, the Paul E. and Doris J. Moriarty Endowed Professor of Choral Activities in the South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University School of Performing Arts, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ American Choral Directors Association. Shawn Stemsrud, a 2022 SDSU graduate, received the association's Encore Award, as did 2002 SDSU alum Janice Gilbert.

The South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Art Museum at South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University has again achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums, the highest national recognition afforded to the nation’s museums.

Rosemarie Nold, professor and assistant head of the Department of Animal Science at South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University, has been named an American Society of Animal Science Teaching Fellow. She received the honor at July’s American Society of Animal Science annual meeting in Calgary, Alberta.

Professional Ag Marketing of Luverne, Minnesota, has made a significant gift to the Richard Wahlstrom Endowment Fund at South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University to enhance students’ knowledge of risk management for grain and livestock producers.

By the narrowest of margins — two points out of more than 2,000 — the SDSU Quarter Scale Tractor Team came up just short of winning its third consecutive national title. Competing at the 27th annual International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition at the Expo Gardens Fairgrounds in Peoria, Illinois, the South ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ State University team placed third out of 21 teams.
