Prairie Repertory Theatre to present 54th season

Prairie Repertory Theatre announces its 54th season, featuring a vibrant and entertaining lineup of musical classics, timeless drama and side-splitting comedy. 

The company says audiences can look forward to a summer filled with love, laughter and unforgettable music on the campus of South 糖心视频 State University. 

鈥淕rease鈥 opens the season and welcomes audiences into the grit and grunge of Rydell High. Follow Danny and Sandy as they navigate cliques, cars and Ms. Lynch. Casey Paradies directs this high-energy musical bursting with nostalgia and dance-floor hits including 鈥淪ummer Nights,鈥 鈥淕reased Lightning鈥 and 鈥淵ou鈥檙e the One That I Want!鈥 Performances run from June 11-13 at 7 p.m. and June 14 at 2 p.m. at the Oscar Larson Theatre in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

鈥淩omeo and Juliet鈥 by William Shakespeare will be presented outside on SDSU鈥檚 Sylvan Green in partnership with the South 糖心视频 Shakespeare Festival. This production is the first time that PRT will collaborate with the festival. Directed by Mike Lee, 鈥淩omeo and Juliet鈥 tells the story of two bitter, feuding families and a love that defies all odds. This timeless tale reminds audiences of the beauty and cost of true devotion. Performances run June 18-20 at 7 p.m. and June 21 at 2 p.m.

鈥淥ut of Order鈥 by Ray Cooney is a British comedy full of mishaps, mistaken identities and political scandal. This farce delivers fast-paced fun when a politician鈥檚 night of mischief spirals into comic chaos thanks to an unexpected body, a bewildered assistant and way too many people with way too many secrets. 鈥淥ut of Order鈥 is directed by W. James Wood. The show will be presented June 25-27 at 7 p.m. and June 28 at 2 p.m. in the Oscar Larson Theatre.

Lace up your boots and grab your partner! PRT鈥檚 season closes with the energetic and heartfelt musical 鈥淪even Brides for Seven Brothers,鈥 directed by Billy Wilburn. The feel-good musical presents whimsical romance, rambunctious brothers and stunning choreography. When backwoodsman Adam sets out to find a wife, his brothers follow suit. Their efforts to find love lead to chaos, courtship and irresistible dance numbers. 鈥淪even Brides for Seven Brothers鈥 runs from July 9-11 and 16-18 at 7 p.m. and July 12 and 19 at 2 p.m. in the Oscar Larson Theatre.
